The Nordic Cross

Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland. All feature the distinctive Scandinavian off-center cross, differentiated by specific color combinations (e.g. blue on yellow for Sweden, white on blue for Finland).

Pan-African Colors

Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon, Mali, Guinea. Derived from the Ethiopian flag, these designs utilize gold (wealth), green (nature), red (struggle), and black stars to signify unity.

Pan-Slavic Tricolors

How to tell similar flags apart

Watch for mirror-image orientations, stripe directions, and subtle shade differences.

Chad vs. Romania

Both use blue, yellow, and red vertical stripes. Chad uses a noticeably darker indigo blue, while Romania uses cobalt blue.

Ireland vs. Côte d'Ivoire

Ireland is green-white-orange (green at the hoist/left). Côte d'Ivoire is orange-white-green (orange at the hoist).

Indonesia, Monaco & Poland

Indonesia and Monaco are red on top, white on bottom (Monaco is narrower). Poland is reversed: white on top, red on bottom.
